That is a error that shows up sometime in Creator 2010 and Creator 2011 but not typically in Creator 2009. There is a fix for them but not for Creator 2009.

You might want to try this.

1) Update your computer by doing this. Do each step.

2) Download Revo Uninstaller from cnet.com. It is free.

3) Turn off your antivirus ( must be off; not just paused).

4) Uninstall Creator 2009 using Revo in the moderate mode. Allow it to uninstall Creator 2009 and then follwo the prompts to remove all the found registry entried. There are a LOT !

5) Reinstall Creator 2009.

6) Reboot and see if Creator 2009 works.

You may have to do 4, 5, and 6 a couple of times.

Let us know if that works.

I had trouble after uninstalling Roxio Creator 2009 per instruction from Roxio web site. After uninstalling I would get the messages Certificate can not be found and Windows Install Shield can't find Roxio Creator 2009. I had Microsoft trying to solve my issue for three days. I have PDF Converter by Nuance and when I would open up a file with it I would get the above issues. I finally solved the issue this morning. Here is how I did it there is an uninstaller out there that you get on 30 day free trial it name is Revo Uninstaller Pro and here is what I did using it.First I used REVO Uninstaller Pro to remove the PDF converter using the forced uninstall option and then run the scan and selected all and deleted all trace elements.

Next re-downloaded SP4 and the Hot Fix for Roxio register. After doing this I reinstalled Roxio Creator 2009 using REVO Professional Uninstaller. Then when I installed the SP4 I did same thing using REVO. Before I was getting a message Roxio Creator could not be found.

Next I ran the Hot Fix to correct the registry.

Next I reinstalled the PDF converter.

Note: When I tried installing SP4 before using the Revo program I received a message that Roxio Creator 2009 could not be found.

I hope this will help some of you out there since Roxio does not help much.

Too bad you didn't come here earlier; we have been recommending Revo for more than a year.

Also, there is the Roxio kb where you can find these.

I hope you don't have any additional issues but, if you do, stop in here.

BTW, 77 is not old for this site. There are several about that age and I'm gaining on it. I have a friend who is 92 years old and uses Creator 2010 for slide shows.

Also the pdf converter was probably not really part of the issue./solution.

Also you are replying to a year old thread where the original poster never came back - either solved the issue or gave up; we'll never know.
