Toast 11 Installation Issue

Scottofshields

Question

Hi Guys,

I'm new round these parts, hope you're all well.

I'm having a major installation issue and wondered if anybody could help me.

I bought Toast 11 (my first piece of Roxio software, to use for Bluray authoring) on March 17th. It finally arrived today, but I just cant get it to install.

Upon clicking the "Install Toast 11" icon I am taken to the first page (Introduction) I click continue which takes me to the License Agreement window. I click "Continue", then "Agree," where I then arrive at the "Destination Select" window. This is where I am having a major issue.

In the window it states "where do you want to install this software?" Below is a screen icon, and "Install for all users of this machine", but it is ghosted and I can not select it, also the continue button is ghosted, so I cannot click continue. The only button I can press is "Go Back."

I've wasted all night trying, but to no avail, it's so frustrating.

I am trying to install on an 8 Core Mac Pro running OS X 10.5.6

I have paid £130 for this software and waited 2 weeks for it to be delivered and I can't even install it! Not a good first impression at all!

Regards,

Scott

This is a standalone edit suite that I use for my business, I am the only user (there are no other user accounts other than mine, and I am the Administrator).

Just to make sure I just logged out and logged back in, and tried to install again, and the same issue occured.

Yesterday I contact Roxio customer support, got a "ticket", and sent them a message outlining the issue. They replied asking me to send a Dxdiag report, which I did, and I havent heard back from them since.

If they can't resolve the issue I can send you a message describing where the installer places the files so you can use Pacifist to manually install the files from inside the installer package.

Thank mate, id appreciate that.

Roxios ticketing system has been down all day so I haven't even been able to log in to respond to my second response from them!

I'm getting pretty annoyed about the whole situation.

First time i've ever bought a pro piece of software and not even been able to install it.

Hi,

I am having the exact same issue and have yet to hear back from Roxio on how this can be fixed. Would you mind sending a message describing how to use Pacifist to do a manual install?

Thanks,

Katie

If you are running on 10.5, Toast 11 will only install on 10.5.8. The Continue button would be greyed out on 10.5.7 and earlier.
