Bloat

Question

After reading forum after forum after forum I'm sure that this post will come as no surpise. After installing Roxio creator 11, I have decided that it is better if I uninstall it and put it on anouther drive with a os on it. As Roxio slows down windows starting up. I had disabled all Roxio components from starting with windows, or at least all the ones that show up in msconfig and my sistem was still slower than it was befor installing Roxio. I was not surprised (after reading all those forums) to see that after uninstalling there are still lots of Roxio and sonic files left behind. I have a very small c drive, only 60 gigs, because it's a ssd. So I would realy like to get rid of any bloat. Is there a Officail Roxio clean up tool? I wont all reminants of Roxio creator 11 removed and my registry the way it was befor I paid out £65 for Roxio.

Also, When I install Roxio again, is there any options to choose what components of Roxio are installed and wich are left out?

Roxio Uninstall here.

You can also try the free Revo Uninstaller software and try that. Use the Moderate mode to be safe. They have a free trial of the pro version which will uninstall partially uninstalled/installed software. It costs a minimum after the trial period.

Except for Streamer, there are no choices when you install.

How long does it take your computer to boot? Mine does it in just over one minute with Creator 2011 (an 2 browsers, 2 video editing programs, e-mail, antio-virus, etc) installed. You might want to download the free Soluto software to see what else you can remove from your boot. You will be surprised to see how long things like anti-virus and back up programs take to load. After you do that and change the msconfig start up items, you can remove Soluto. If you remove Soluto, then the system defaults to what you have set in msconfig.

Perhaps one of the sliced and diced targeted version would have been better for you. If you bought the package directly from Roxio's on-line store, you have 30 days to return it and buy just what you want.

Thanks Sknis for great reply. I have tried the roxio uninstall, It has shifted some files, about 150, about 30 still left. It's hard to say because I have some Sonic foundry files and some files that I'm not sure about. I'm going to try Revo in a minute then Soluto. I will time boot after every step.

Before Roxio install My system was booting in 12 seconds. I have my bios put up some information for so many seconds so i don't start timing windows until the logo appears and then I don't stop timing until sidebar gadgets appear. I didn't get a exact time of how long it took to boot with roxio, my guess is about two mins. After I stop Roxio from starting up with windows, Boot time went down to 90 seconds and after uninstall it went down to 19 seconds.

According to Soluto, it takes 33 seconds to boot now that I have run Roxio clean up tool. I'm sure there are still some files left behind and probably some in the reg but I'll just have to get over it. Thanks for the advice. Tomorrow I will see if I cann get a refund and just pay for the stuff I actualy want.

How do I go about getting a refund or swapping products?

If you bought the program directly from Roxio's on-line store within the last 30 days, Go here or see if they can help you at call 1-877-793-7480 .

If you bought the program from any one else, you might sweet talk them into taking it back but I doubt it.

Hi, all.

How do I go about getting a refund for Roxio Creator 2011? I have had it less than 30 days, It's the download version. Does Roxio have a product that can transcode all kinds of file types and then burn them to dvd for all dvd players to play? And ofcourse doesn't slow my computer down and uninstalls fully and simply?
