Thanks for that. Just a quick followup question - what do you reckon the time to transfer a 1 1/2 hr VHS already on the computer to DVD. I assume it would be dependent upon a number of things, but are we talking 'a lot' quicker than real time?

So to take 4 - 5 hours to write a 1 1/2 DVD is not unreasonable?

 

You have to fill in the blanks otherwise it's only a guess.

For best quality, only one hour per single layer DVD. You might get up to two hours if you don't mind crappy quality - much worse than the original VHS. Double that for DL discs; most burners and players will handle those.
