Green Screen In Preview Window

scc

Question

Getting green screen then alternates to black screen then back to green screen in preview window after inputting composite SD video to Roxio USB adapter port Then software tells me I need a HIGH-SPEED USB port. Trouble is, all my USB ports are the same - 2.0. My computer company tells me all ports are 2.0 - same speed. PC is only a year old running Windows XP Home version. Any advice out there?

Thanks for the update ~ actually very rare for the device to fail, but not impossible... ;)

When you posted 'communication problem', I began to suspect USB device was misbehaving. Just could not be sure.

Just got computer back from shop - here is the sad fact - Roxio USB plug-in device is DEFECTIVE - go figure.. No wonder I kept getting error messages. Looks like I will have to ask Roxio for a replacement that WORKS. This ought to be fun.

Took item back to retailer to exchange for a new one - new one works fine - so item WAS defective after all.

Thanks to all for your input.

Don't you believe that ! I have both MAC and PC. I have Roxio Toast and Final Cut (lite) on the MAC and Creator 2011 and another video editing program on the PC.

Want to take a guess on which one I use most and which one gives me more than the other? :o;)

Being tech savvy helps I am sure -where would you suggest I take my computer and Roxio software to MAKE it work??

On one system I have Roxio Creator 2010 Pro, Roxio DVDit Pro HD, Roxio Easy VHS to DVD, Roxio Photo Show, and Nero 7 Ultra.

Of course none of this helps you but blows a hole in your theory "Unless you have a PC only dedicated to this one program only it MIGHT work".

Sorry Easy VHS to DVD isn't working out for you, good luck...

Performed all tasks and same problems noted. Unless you have a PC only dedicated to this one program only it MIGHT work..

No wonder you see so many of these units on ebay noting they had compatibility issues as well. Guess I better get a Mac - at least they are more video friendly.

Ran cleaner.

You have the listed ports.

Here is properties screen shot of the one port you pointed to.

I think we have a communication problem!

When you see the error/warning, have you clicked here "For A List Of Available Ports"?

The registry cleaner could and most likely is wrecking your Roxio installation of Easy VHS to DVD, stop using it.

Go to the link below and run the prep steps, put your installation disc in and when the installer offers the repair option run it..

What is a USB 2 controller???? All my other devices - scanners, camera capture all require USB 2.0 and they all work as they should.

First have you used that registry cleaner since installing Easy VHS to DVD?

I see the USB error now, have you "For A List Of Available Ports, Click Here"?

What ports does it list?

The company who built the computer emailed this to me if this helps:

Here is your motherboard,

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3270#sp

Says right in the specs

Up to 8 USB 2.0/1.1 ports (4 on the back panel, 4 via the USB brackets connected to the internal USB headers)

It says 2.0/1.1 because both can be used. The four via USB brackets are additional add-ons you can get.

Plug the Roxio USB Device in to your computer and gets us a screen cap of what you see, then post it here..

A free print screen 'Gadwin PrintScreen 4.5 freeware'
