Video Trim Not Working

VgtBill

Question

While trying to trim a video in Roxio Creator 2011 Pro, the correct screen comes up but the play button(-->) does not work. So there is no way to trim a video. This is a new clean install on Windows 7 32 bit Pro. Works great on Creator 2009, different machine of course. Any Ideas?

Does the video play normally in the editor preview window?

Have you tried trimming using split points from the editor?

Video plays fine from preview panel window. In the trim panel moving one of the pointers and trying to set start or set end causes both pointers to end up at the start point. None of the buttons on the trim window seem to work. Not sure what you mean by "split points".

Why don't you just cut out what you don't want in the Video Wave timeline. This video (Link) is from an earlier version but the process is the same.

One more thought on this

“Trim”, in VideoWave only works on the ends of a clip… For just that reason it is of very, very limited use…

What Steve suggests, using split and delete, is far more useful!

But in the end, Trim should still work!!! To restore its’ functionality, I suggest using the Roxio Prep Steps to the letter!

Then start to install of the Suite, only pick Repair when it is offered ;)
