No Video Signal

elio

Question

Hi all,

I know there have been several posts on this subject but none are the same as my problem. I have managed to read one VHS when I used the software for the first time. I then unplugged the USB adaptor and have been getting No Video Signal since. I have tried plugging a DVD player/Freeview player and 2 different VHS recorders with no joy. I have bought gold plated cables S-Video Scart converters etc..... All the devices work to various tv's that I have with ALL the combination of cabling. I have emailed Roxio support for over a month now trying everything they have suggested, including replacement software and cables....None have worked. Please can anyone give me pointers as to what to try next

thanks

Go into your device manager, it should look like this with the USB Capture Device plugged in.

You left out your Version or Build Number :o

Early versions require you to set the type of the Source signal!!!

The 201B Build does not.

Check what Tony posted and try a Commercial Color Tape, for testing, to assure you are working with the best source you can get for the device ;)

I think I may have a cure for this issue. Go to the setup guide. As you read it you must follow it exactly. You must insert the USB adapter first with nothing attached to it and wait a minute. Then connect the adapter wires. Then connect the audio and video cables. This brought back my ability to capture video and audio. I think that every time you disconnect the USB capture unit from its USB port on the computer You will have to follow this same sequence to reestablish the video capture. Anyhow it wprked for me goodluck.

I remain skeptical of the SCART adapters…

You mentioned “tests” with the one you have :glare:

Of course the only way to test is to connect the SCART to the Output side of a device (VCR) then attach the RCA (yellow/white/red) Cables to the SCART plug, unless it terminates in RCA, and lastly connect the RCA plugs to the Input side of another device…

Make sure the TV has INPUT from RCA cables.

Is that what you did to test your SCART’s?
