Roxio Creator 2011 fails to recognize blank disc

I just received my roxio creator 2011 disc in the mail and downloaded it. When I insert a blank disc to burn a DVD, the icon doesn't show up in the lower right hand corner as it does when any other dvd that has a movie I insert to watch does. When I try to create a list of videos to burn, it says "insert disc". Why does it not detect the blank dvd is inserted?

Here's a pic of my screen when I try to burn a dvd....it shows no dvd is inserted but there is one in!

You have supplied very little information on what you are doing. Waht program from C2011 are you using? What are you trying to do? What are your video sources?

You can't really expect anybody to wade through those pages of text in your attachment. After all we are just users like you in this forum.

Ok....I thought I would try here. I'm trying to create a dvd from files on my hard drive using creator classic. When I inserted the disc to download the program, the icon appears but not when I wanted to create the video.

I don't know what that image is supposed to show but in any case you cannot create a video DVD (to be played on a DVD player) using creator classic. You have to use the program myDVD (create DVDs) or Video Copy and Convert. If you use creator classic to burn video files to a DVD all you are creating is a data disc.

Perhaps if you were to explain exactly what you are trying to accomplish we can give you better advice.

 

BTW, download and upload refers to getting/sending programs/data etc from a website. You do not use the term when talking about burning to discs.
