No Picture On Video Trimmer

crosby2008

Question

I am using the Advanced Video Editing feature in Creator 2010. When I double click on a video clip to edit it, the video trimmer screen is black. I have tried repair, and uninstalled and reinstalled the program. My Google Chrome web browser is having issues with crashing video players, etc. I wonder if it is affecting Creator. What players are required for my video trimmer to work. I can see the video in the preview screen. Can you think of anything else that might be causing it?

Do you mean that the video does not play at all in the trimmer video window, ie the window is black all the time while playing?

It does not play at all. It stays black and nothing happens when I push play. I didn't mention that I am using Windows 7.

Have you tried to use the split/delete method from Videowave?

On the timeline, move the cursor to the position where you want to trim and hit the split icon. Then select the segment to the left and click delete . Do the same at the end of the video clip.

Does that work?

Yes, that does work--thank you. At least now I can trim. I would like the trimmer to work, however. It worked fine until just recently. I tried to replace Shockwave and Adobe player, but they still crash in Chrome. Google is still trying to identify the problem. Would either of these affect the video in the trimmer?

I too am having trouble with this and tried the fix. It works but I am concerned that we have to do it this way. Does anybody know why the trimmer is not showing anything but a black screen? I want to use the slow motion effect in the trimmer but can not. Is there a work around for that in the timeline method?

My video trimmer started working again on its own--as mysteriously as it stopped. In the meantime I started using the split/delete method and found it to be much easier and faster and haven't gone back to the old way. Thanks!

Unfortunately the split/delete method does not work if you are trying to remove 10 or less frames from the beginning or end of a video clip. In that case only the Trim feature can be used.
