I Can't Play Burned Dvd On My Dvd Player.

Dedrick

Question

Each time I try to burn my family movie, which is like at lest 1 hour long, It won't play. The first time I done it it was working ok, then it just freeze (when I tried to play it on the DVD) the second time I burn it didn't even work.

Any ideas?

Also, why does the program just keep freezing? Then when I have to shut it down my computer acts up. Why is that?

That Image of a CD at the bottom right corner above the time, I sometimes use that one as well and It still don't work.

You used the wrong program to burn the DVD.

Did you notice the difference between you picture and cd's? You have created a data DVD while cd's shows a video DVD. There is a big difference as most DVD players cannot play video burned as data. All video DVDs are always automatically closed and are never appendable.

You have to use myDVD (Create DVDs from the Roxio main menu page). That Burn Discbutton is also for burning data disc and does not create video DVDs

Everyone else seems to have gone home for the weekend

I just pointed out what looked like another hint as to your problems... It may not be just one thing but a combination of little things and a dark cloud!

I would suggest the following:

Do the
to the letter!

Then start to install of the Suite, only pick
Repair
when it is offered.

You will have to do the Roxio Updates again, but check first to see if it will work after the Repair & Reboot ;)

I noticed that you used Fit-to-disc when you tried burning using myDVD. Is that because your video project is longer then 60 minutes? How long is the project?

Also you show an error and burn failure so obviously that DVD cannot play correctly.

A standard 4.7GB DVD can only hold 60 minutes of video using the best quality (HQ) setting. Any longer and the video gets compressed and you lose quality. Fit-to-disc is the worst choice in that case. Many users have posted menu problems if they can burn at all.

My project is 100 minutes.

Can I just disable the menu and use HQ or Extra Long Play to make the DVD work?

If that's not the right way can you please tell me how to do it?

Make sure that you are using Create DVD to burn your discs. You didn't say that you did that.

Are you using Memorex or another crappy brand (store brand) to burn you DVDs?

I'm using HP DVD-R types, the red CDs. And the first time used the Create DVD it only worked like 3 seconds on the DVD player then it freeze.

Check the manual of the stand alone DVD player for the types of DVD disc it supports. Is the DVD you are feeding to it one of the supported types?

The DVD plays other burned DVDs and CDs. Also I tried to put the Burned DVDs inside of different DVD players and none of it worked. I even tried to put it inside my PS3 and PS2, both failed.

And thanks for the replies.

I just finish burning a video a few minutes ago, the only problem is that when I put it in my dvd player it won't work, it only work on my computer. Is that normal?

Also, when the program freeze (not responding) I have to close it by using ctrl+delete and I have to reboot my computer to make it run normally again. (because when I put in my blank dvd or put something in my drive like a flash drive nothing pops up.) why is that?

Please explain how you are trying to burn to a DVD. What program did you use, in the Creator 2010 suite, and how did you create the family movie?

Also provide you computer specs, similar to how I have mine listed in my signature, including the operating system you are using...XP, Vista, Win 7.

I record the video from a video camera I have roxio creator 2010 plus, i don't know if it's the same as suite this is my first time burning dvds and stuff. I'm using windows xp

Update:
