Degraded Video Capture

KenRob

Question

install and use of software couldn't have been simpler.

VHS played on TV has great color and quality.

I used the same composite cables as for the TV and only the connectors included in the pkg of "EASY VHS > DVD" After burning DVD the copy has degraded picture quality.

Is there a way to boost the signal is is this loss of quality to be expected?

Thx

How long is the VHS?

Roxio's constant bit rate encoder at 9mbs only allows 60 minutes in HQ quality on a single layer DVD and about two hours on a DL DVD..

At what quality did you put the video to the disc?

Your version # would help because there are four different ones out there.

Version# 201B23A

quality was set to 1 1\2 hours.

vhs lenght 90 minutes

so the VHS has to be only 1 hour long to retain best quality? grrr.... everything (movies) are over an hour !!

Try a DL DVD or split it to two or more single layer DVD's?
