Check out "Making a DVD or BD video disc" in Toast Help. You may be able to fit nearly 1 hour of video on a DL DVD. Choose DVD DL with the button below "Space Remaining" at the bottom of the Toast window to see an indicator of how much will fit the disc.

I have AVCHD m2ts files that were captured on my hard drive. I would like to burn these to a DL-DVD in a format that would work on a BD player. I have Toast 11 pro. What is the best way to do this?

I do this myself , just be sure to TURN OFF re-encoding in the customize section (menu section) of the disc. Toast will then layout your mts files in a avchd format that your blu ray player will understand.. By setting it for NO re-encoding you will retain 100% full quality and a super fast disc will be made.... I do this with eyetvHD programs as well....

I am trying to do the exact same thing - m2ts file onto DVD-DL - but it just won't happen!

I choose "High-Def DVD Video" as the project type, load a DL disc, drag the file (7.4 GB m2ts) onto the window, (turned off re-encoding as mentioned above), and hit burn. Initially it seems fine; the main window shrinks down to the small one, where "Preparing" appears for a few seconds, this changes to "Multiplexing" and then it just instantly stops and returns to the main window. There's no error reported, the app hasn't crashed, it simply won't proceed with multiplexing.

Could it be to do with Lion, which I recently installed? Toast is version 11.0.3 so that's up to date AFAIK.
