Starting Toast Causes Dvd To Unmount

shovland42

Question

Whenever I start Toast, the DVD that is currently mounted (and doing other things) gets unmounted (and stops doing other things). That seems like it may be happening because Toast is insisting that I must want to use the DVD drive with Toast. It always starts in Video/DVD Disc mode. My primary use of Toast is to convert Tivo files to something viewable on iphone. I almost never use it with DVDs.

How do I stop Toast from unmounting the discs?

I don't know what to do about Toast automatically re-mounting inserted discs when launching. If you have multiple DVD drives you can select a different drive before quitting Toast and that should default to the drive Toast seeks when it launches. As for starting in the Video window, quit Toast when in the Convert window. It should open in whatever window and whatever format was selected when Toast closed. If that isn't happening then I suggest going to your User>Library>Preferences folder and trashing the Toast plist and prefs files and relaunching Toast.
