Sound Editor can convert several like a batch. Open Sound Editor and add the files to a project. Edit the ID TAGS if needed. Then click on EXPORT TRACK/CLIPS. At the top of this dialog box, click on CLIPS and they will be displayed. YOu can use the default MP3 settings or you can customize the bitrate by clicking on EDIT beside OUTPUT.

I still can't do it. I have many WAV files on my PC. I want to convert ALL of them to MP3. Do I first have to put them onto CDs? I hope not! :)

What method have you used that won't work or you can't do? Have you tried Sound Editor? It will convert files from a wav to mp3 right to your hard drive. So will Music Disc Creator. Add your wav files to the project just like you were going to burn a cd, highlight the files you want to export then right click and choose 'Export'. You're given a choice for the type of file you want to export to and where.
