Confusing Speed

Machinima trainer

Question

I have a strange problem with this Roxio game capture card. After I have recorded a video, I go back for playback and there is a problem. The quality is ok, there is no skipping, good graphics, but it goes faster than normal. The sounds that are in the game itself are at regular speed but the actual footage is too fast. What I end up with is a fast video with the sounds at regular speed. When I say sounds I don't mean added audio, I'm talking about the sounds that are in the game itself. I tryed slowing it down and the footage got at nice speed but then the sounds slowed way down. Does anybody have any idea on how I can fix this problem?

This happens when I try to record at a higher quality than my PC can handle, so it compensates and skips frames whilst still running at the same speed it would normally, through the frames it takes.

This is not PC requirements or RGC hardware problems. In my tests its a SOFTWARE problem.

Try record in other software and post results here. In my knowledge a MPEG2 record options will never get problem. My netbook Celeron record fine.

While not specifically your issue, this article addresses the opposite: fast audio, but choppy video. I'm wondering if it *may* help. The good news is you can always revert back: http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/content/000004GC

Also, please send your PC specs so we can make sure you're good to go. Just a safety check.
