It depends on the source and its format. Start with choosing the Convert window. Are you wanting to edit the video in Toast or is it already edited? What is its format? Have you read the Toast guide accessible via Toast Help about using the Convert window?

I'm not clear about what you're asking so I'm going to make a guess that you want to edit an mpeg 2 video and have it saved on the hard drive in a format playable on most computer devices (in other words in h.264 mpeg-4 format). To do this choose Video Files as the format in the Convert window. Add the mpeg video and click the Edit button. In the window that appears click its Edit button. This launches the Toast Video Player which also is an editor. Now drag the playhead where you want to start an edit and click on the double triangle that's at the bottom middle of the window. Drag the right side of that double triangle to the right until you reach the point where you want the edit to end. Move the playhead to another start edit point and repeat. When done you've marked all the segments you want excluded (out of) the converted video. Choose Save in the Video Player and return to the Toast window. Click the red button and choose the format that you want for the converted video. AppleTV is usually a good choice for format.

Play the converted video to be certain it all worked correctly. There is a bug in the Toast Video Player editor that causes it to sometimes stop conversion prematurely.
