Fast Fwd/rewind On Bd Recording

gp4rts

Question

While the BD discs I record using Toast 11 play nicely, the fast forward (>>) and rewind (<<) controls do not work. Pause, chapter advance and 15s advance (on a Sony BD player) all work ok. Fast will freeze the image, and when I press play, the play resumes at the same place (mostly); sometimes is skips forward. Rewind also freezes the image, but usually will resume play at an earlier point. This does not happen on commercial BD discs, and behaves the same on two different BD players (Sony and Panasonic). I could not find a posting on this forum describing this problem. Any suggestions?

Update on this issue. With help from Roxio support, specifically from http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/content/000002TT&PARAMS=set-locale=en. I make a disc image first, then copy at 1X speed to the Blu-Ray disc. There is no hangup at 99% and fast fwd/rev work well. I suspect that at higher write speeds there is not enough contrast on the disc for the frame codes to be read at FF and FR speeds. It is possible that another brand of media (I used Verbatim) would not have this problem.
