VideoWave Effect Selector and more

APPY

Question

I have MyDVD 8 VideoWave. I have downloaded movies from my video camera and ended up with 20 windows in my Storyline. I have produced one DVD but with some issues. It seems I had to go to "My Menu" to burn the DVD. I have several issues:

* Can I burn the DVD from VideoWave, or must I go to MyDVD (My Menu)?

* When playing the DVD on a player (with TV) the opening Menu shows six Storyline windows, and I have

to click on each window recording to play that segment. I want one continuous movie. Will the "Effect

Selector" enable an even continuous recording /playing, including going on to the remaining Storyline

14 windows?

* How do I develop a final DVD Project title (and menu)?

* Once project is complete, how do I delete the total movie from memory?

This is my first use of the facility. It's probably obvious...

No, Videowave is the editor and does not burn.

I want one continuous movie.
Learning how the program works will correct this. I'm not sure how you created a DVD with that many buttons on the main menu. By adding your Videowave project to a MyDVD project, there should only be one button to play the movie.

That's what MyDVD is for.

I assume you mean from the hard drive? I recommend keeping all files for a particular project in one folder. That way you know where the files are located when cleaning up the hard drive.

OPen Videowave

Create your project

Save your project (which will be .dmsm)

Open MyDVD

Create a new project

ADD NEW MOVIE and select the .dmsm

This should add one button that plays the Videowave project.

From here you can customize the menu and then burn to DVD, ISO or video folder.

Thanks for your fast reply. Your response was helpful, but I still need some direction. How do I move my Storyline movie from VideoWave to MyDVD 8 (My Menu?). :)

AUG 2, 2006

I have a project that I saved (actually several) in VideoWave.

I went to MyDVD8 / Roxio Home page.

Under File, I went to New Project

Then selected DVD & Video (with following choices)

My DVD

Quick DVD

Plug & Burn (DV to DVD)

Capture Video

Edit Video

Audit-Edit video

Under File, (at bottom of window) There are three files. Two are productions with titles ending in .dmsm,

and one is document with title ending in .dmsd. If I click on the first .dmsm movie I get a widow CANNOT INITIATE TASK, with sub comment "you are attempting to run VideoWave & MyDVD at the same time. This will result in degraded performance. Are you sure you want to proceed? YES / NO"

Somewhere I am off track. What should I do next??????

Personally, I never use the HOME application. Don't select any of those in the middle pane. Go to the left pane, click on Create DVD which takes you to the full version of MyDVD 8.

Once MyDVD 8 is open, click on Add New Movie and select the .dmsm files that were created by Videowave. This will add a button on a DVD menu.

Using or not using the Home application is a personal preference. I use it all of the time, and like it.

You can get to all of the applications in the Suite with no problem at all. Just don't use the useless wizards. That is where the problem comes into play. You don't get the full version of the program, using the wizards. That part of Home is ridiculous.

OK - I believe I have the file / movie I want on My Menu, with the starting pic and the .dmsm label under it.

NOW - how do I put a title on it, and then how do I burn it? It's size is 4657.8 mb (42.2 free). This is all on the My Menu Preview Screen. I get red outlines on the pic, the label, and My Menu if I click on them. I feel I'm getting closer. I should after 2-3 months of trying. Thanks!

Thanks for adding your comments, it's all helpful, although I don't know what wizards (?) you're talking about.
