I've been working with the email support team to try and resolve this, but I've stopped receiving updates from them. I'm hoping someone else out there has solved this error.
I'm installing this on a Windows 7 Professional 64bit laptop (Toshiba Satellite). The box that the software came in said it was Windows 7 compatible. It's completely up to date and defragged. I disabled all startup applications. Installed the XML Core Services version that the support team listed (even though I had a newer version already installed). Ran the setup file in various compatibility modes and as administrator.
Every time I run the setup application, it works fine until the installer starts to configure .Net Framework 3.5.1. The installer hangs for a few moments, then performs a rollback and displays a message that installation was interupted. The log file shows that the .net framework installer exited with code 5100.
I did some research on this error, and it's typically related to the fact that .net framework 3.5.1 is a windows feature in windows 7 and the installer package is not allowed to configure it.
My question is whether someone out there has a listing of which applications to install manually, and in what order to be able to skip over the framework installation. I tried to run the setup application within the VHSTODVD_20 folder, but it simply directed me to run setup.exe.
