Sub-Titles Video Copy And Convert

new at this, so probably a dumb question, but, when using video copy and convert the completed dvd always has sub-titles displayed. during the convert process, there is a menu that allows you to opt out of sub-titles, but it does not seem to work. what am i doing wrong.

If the subtitles are hard-coded into the source video, they can't be removed

ok guys. tks for the input. guess my backup copies are going to have sub-titles
