Connecting Vhs Player To Computer To Copy

Virginiacee

Question

Hi, I am new to this device and don't know too much about how to use it. I would like to know how do I copy vhs tapes to dvd when my computer and vhs player are in two different rooms?

I have not installed the Roxio software yet and thought I would try to find the answer beforehand.

Thank you so much for any and all replies.

So I will have to bring it in to the room where the computer is so I will have to hook it up to another television?

Do you have a friend,neighbor,relative,co-worker, who has some basic computer knowledge/electronics that would come over and give you a hand.

If you are having problems with the basic principles of hooking up a VCR to a computer, then you will definitely get into deep doo doo using the VHS to DVD program.

You will save yourself a lot of headaches and frustration by getting some help.

regards

Tony

The computer and the VHS player have to be near enough so that you can hook them up. There is no TV involved.

I have the vhs to dvd software. The package says its easy to use and that is why I purchased it. However, the support I have been getting is not so easy.I have had to ask several questions and they do take a while to answer. I have learned that I needed to bring the vhs player that is hooked up to my computer and attach a RCA cable to it and then attach it to my computer but the directions don't say how. And the support people with Roxio said to attach it , But how and where do the plugs go? Its maddening and if you are new to computers they Don't make it easy to understand. I don't have a teen handy to help me with this so I have to depend on someone to help. I do appreciate your help and answering my query. I hope to get this set up soojn.

Thanks.

Here is a link to the getting started guide if you do not have it. It shows you how to connect everything.
