Only Green Screen When I Try To Convert

I have a short clip (17 seconds) that's an .MTS file. I want to convert it to a quicktime file. When I try all I get is about a second of a green screen with my original audio behind it. have since tried with all formats and the same thing happens. Can anyone offer a clue? thanks.

That suggests that your Mac is lacking a codec needed for Toast to read the video for conversion. Does it play in the window that appears when you click the Edit button? How does Toast describe the specs of the video?
