Question

I am a new user to Toast 11. One of the main reasons I purchased it was that the website reported the ability to make archives from source AVCHD material, including the ability to span disks. Great.

So ... I purchased the download version and despite what the website says I don't seem to have a PDF User guide.

Can someone tell me how to restore an AVCHD archive, which spans multiple disks (DVDs) so that the material can be read again into Final Cut Express (FCE)?

It appears that so long as your material doesn't span multiple disks you can read right from the DVD into FCE. But I can't seem to find any information regarding how to restore the backup library so the files can be read when you have spanned multiple DVDs.

I just updated to 11.0.2 and it gets worse. When burning an AVCHD archive the project informs me I will need 4 discs. Ok. Encoding begins - then for no apparent reason at about 13% it closes and returns to the project window. No error dialog, no warning.

The PDF file is the Toast Help document. Page 112 discusses AVCHD archives. I don't have a AVCHD camcorder so I don't have any experience with this. From what I read in Toast Help each disc should be able to be recognized as a camcorder for importing video. Rather than the importing spanning from one disc to another you import each disc as its own individual source.

I don't know what to suggest about the failure to capture the camcorder's entire output. Is it possible the camera (or the Mac) went into a sleep mode?

There is a Toast 11.0.3 beta available via a link near the top of the forum but I don't know if anything is different in it regarding AVCHD archives.

If their their is a Toast 11.03 out than why did they release 11.0 for purchase. I purchase mine from roxio.com. I have updated to 11.02 and still have 99% hang up problem. Is 11.03 beta suppose to fix this issue. So what do I do now.....
