Run Time In Video

John in Portland

Question

Although not in original VHS video, when captured to computer, a run time feature appears as white letters in the captured video. When this file is inserted into a PowerPoint, I am able to pause the video and restart it using this feature but I don't want it in the video as it is a distraction. How do I keep this from happening or remove it from the captured video.

I am sorry but I don't understand what you are describing. What do you mean by a "run time feature"?

Please explain with more detail exactly what you are doing.

I am trying to capture about 6 minutes of video from an existing VHS tape. The capture part works fine but when I view the captured video, there has been added a timer display in the video - see attached screen-shot. It shows the time since beginning of the file and has the capability of pausing and resuming the file when inserted into a PowerPoint file. I don't want the display in the captured video and it is not in the VHS tape from which I am capturing.

There is no attached screen shot!

As far as I know, VHS2DVD does not have the feature of adding any "run time" features while capturing video. Please explain how you are capturing: what software, hardware, etc. How are you viewing the captured video? What format is captured video?
