Freezing While Recording?

I have wasted at least 10 dvd+rdl disc's when recording from 8mm cam. The disc's are no longer useable but it appears that nothing is on them? The screen on the vhs to dvd freezes, but the time counter still goes, but if you stop it or when it's time to stop it it stays on finalizing for ever, sometimes more than an hour. I have done the disc cleanup/ disc defragment, still random problems. How can I fix this. Also the files tha it is created in are not compatible with any editing programs? Does anyone know how to help me & what would a better program be to use?

It sounds like you're trying to record directly from your camera to DVD. Any errors, will waste your disc. Try using the option of recording to your HD first. Then record from there to DVD and see if that gives you any better results when you separate the steps.

Sorry, HD = Hard Drive, the internal drive on your PC.
