Creator 2011 Mydvd Causes Videowave 13.exe Error

tal1412

Question

I just purchased Creator 2011 and have been trying to install it on my Dell Inspiron 570 for five days now. Numerous emails and phone calls to tech support have just had me installing and uninstalling the software several times, trying a long list of "solutions", with no results. . I have done the complete uninstall via the instructions on this site, run the "2011 cleaner", turned off McAfee while installing, deleted temp files, deleted reg keys, turned off firewalls, created a new account, updated my system per Dell, updated the drivers for the video card, updated directx, etc.

Software seems to install OK. When i select MYDVD, Video wave opens OK. When I clicked on ADD NEW MOVIE, I get the error message about Videowave13.exe..abnormal program termination. See attached screen shot.

My machine is relatively clean. Very little on it. Running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit, with SP1 installed.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Tom

What kind of movie are you trying to add? Are you trying to do some editing or are you trying to burn the DVD/

For editing you should not be using myDVD but the "real" Videowave which you start by selecting Create DVDs - advanced.. myDVD is basically used for creating the menus and burning.

Try this test which does not involve a "video". Just add some photos (jpegs) and see if Videowave crashes

It generates the error message as soon as I click on the Add Movie Link. I never get to the point of actually selecting a file. It does the same thing in Video Editing. I never get to select the...does it if I click on add Slide Show or any option. I am actually using Create DVD from the main menu. when the screen opens, it's got title of Roxio MYDVD.

Anything?

I have EXACTLY the same problem. Using Win 7 on HP workstation and Roxio Creator 2011 Pro. I get exactly the same error screen as soon as I click on the Add Movie Link. I would appreciate any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or how to fix this.

Additional info - I just tried to start using "Edit Video - Advanced" to go straight to videowave. When I click the link to add photo/video, I get the same error message.

After over two weeks of emails from Roxio support, trying over 20 different fixes, uninstalling, re-installing 20 times, the problem was still there. Then they told me they were out fixes and offered a refund. Then yesterday I get a note from roxio support if my problem had been fixed as they were "closing" my ticket.

Still have the problem so it looks like I'm going to return this product and get something that will work on my machine.

If you get something from Roxio support that fixes your problem, please post a reply here so I can try it on my machine.
