Windows 7 And The Big Red X

So, I've done every thing I can think about, including that wonderful manage device thing where I downloaded an audio patch. I've got Windows 7 Home premium and it's all up graded. It says in the instruction manuel and on the box that this and that are compatable. So why do I get this red boardered tray with the BIG RED X? It says in print"This operationg system does not meet minimum requirements.....ETC....then there's a list and number four say: Microsoft Windows 7 home premium (32-64 bit)

any body know "what gives?"
