Are connected using a SVHS connection, or the yellow composite cable? Make sure the capture settings you're using in the program match the cabling you're using. The default may not be what you're using. That's the first thing to check.

i don't have a composite cable only standard monster cable that will not work?? i am unable to get in the program to mmake any changes

You don't have one of these laying around?

What is a "standard monster cable"?

What type of end connector is on the standard monster cable?

Make sure the capture settings you're using in the program match the cabling you're using.

If you have the New W-7 V2D version 201B23A there is no setting.

Do your composite cables look like the ones in the picture in post #4?

What is the source of your analog signal?....be specific.

Here is the manual that came up on Sony’s site: HERE

Around page 54 starts the instructions for Watching on a TV, which is what you are “doing” when you capture?

Go over your setup with that as a guide! Note that it is easy to mix the White and Yellow up under some lighting conditions and putting the Video into the Audio will produce quite a buzz

Also it might be time to try something else. Grab a VCR or DVD Player and use that just to see if you can capture from its’ Output side???

Did I stress Output enough ;)
