Export Video Clip(S) Or Individual Splits From Larger Video

DLConst

Question

Using Creator 2011.

I have a home video file that has many different scenes that are out of order.

I would like to split this video into individual scenes and export the scenes so that they are individual video files.

Then I can tag these files and reorganize them in the appropriate order to create a correct timeline.

Any suggestions other than deleting all footage before and after clip and then exporting?

You might try using scenes as per this video. Let us know if that is what you want..

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I have no problem creating the scenes, my only problem is exporting them one at a time.

What I have is digitized 8mm film that has been spliced into 400 ft. reels with no organization as per date and place.

I have 6 such "reels" that have been digitized.

What I want to accomplish is to split each reel into scenes that equal a storyline panel.

When this is done, I can edit each individual panel, (scene), for trimming and color correction.

Once I have edited each panel, I would like to export each panel as a separate video file so I can create customized DVD's for people

without making them watch something they are not interested in.

So far my work around consists of importing the file, then:

1. split off and edit the first "scene".

2. Copy and the cut the balance of the video.

3. Export my "scene".

4. Paste balance of video back into VideoWave.

5. Delete the "scene" already exported.

6. Repeat steps 1 through 5.

It would be nice if I could pick a panel or scene and export only that scene without having to do the above procedures.

Have you tried just toselect/ copy that scene using a right click, select to open a new project (the original one will be closed), then post that scene into the new project . Remember to save the new project with a name you will remember. Close it and open the old project. You can then delete the scdene already exported. I'm not sure this will save you any time. I don't know of any other way of doing it.

DL, have you tried using Media Manager for your project - Roxio Home screen > Enjoy > Browse and Manage Media

You might create albums and sub albums for your scenes (you can rename the scenes), apply Keywords and ratings. Just a thought. Would save export time, but would also require some organization and familiarizing with MM.
