Locked Shows On Tivo Transfer

Looking for help. I changed from Verizon FIOS to Cablevision. When I view shows on my TiVo transfer in toast titanium there are shows that are locked which means I am unable to transfer and convert them. Does anyone know a way I can unlock these shows?

I'm on COX cable and there are a lot of show that are locked there also. I called TIVO and they said it's the cable provider that has the "Copyright" on them. There must be a work around for it thought and I would like to know also. Sorry I can't help.

I'm not aware of anything that can be done about it except perhaps to get a ElGato Video Capture AV that records from the analog outputs of a TiVo or other device into a h.264 video onto your computer (they need to be directly connected to each other). I'm not sure if that works, either, because I don't have one.

 

The cable provider should not lock any channel that you also can receive over the air. If it does you have cause to complain. I'm fortunate that most of my Comcast channels aren't locked out. Of course the premium channels are all blocked from copying.

I believe this is a topic much discussed at avsforum.com. You won't find a workaround but you'll find what people have done to put heat on their cable TV providers.
