Roxio Creator 2011 Issues

Herk

Question

I just bought and downloaded Roxio Creator 2011. In the photo tab and under create project, I tried to create a greeting card. When I select the template that I want and it happens on any of them, I get a message that says "Please insert the content CD labelled Roxio_Content into a CD or DVD drive and then click Retry". This happens on any of the other templates under other categories. I loaded both the application file and the content file. Any ideas why this does not work? I have no CD to use and I shouldn't have to. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Both the files you downloaded are self-extracting archives.

Open them (use winzip, 7xip, winrar or similar) and extract the files into a folder )separate folders for each download)

Then either burn the contents to disc (using Creator Classic) or point the app to the content folder

If they fail to extract, you have a corrupt download.

What are the names of the two downloaded files?

These are the two files I downloaded. I did like you said and extracted the files to its own folder. I burned the contents of the content folder to a DVD and put the DVD in when the program told me to. It still didn't work. But I noticed that after I extracted the contents that there was still a data file that needed extracting. This had all the templates I needed. So I will extract this back into the contents folder I made and then burn the DVD and try it again.

Try running setup.exe from the folder and let us know if that works

I guess you are talking about running the setup.exe in the contents folder I unzipped to? I did this and it say's that it is already installed. Also, in the roxio folder in Program Files(86)

:\Program Files (x86)\Roxio 2011\PhotoSuite\Content, all the contents to the photosuite are there. I just don't know why the program can't find them.

Also when I extracted the Contents into a folder, there was another zip. I extracted this also into the same folder. It was all of the templates.

How do I make that into an ISO disc. Do I just burn a data dvd and drag all the contents of my new folder over?

Thanks for your help

It sounds like something went belly up on the install. You should be anle to access the content.

Try a clean uninstall/install following the steps outlined here. They're designed for Creator 2010 but should work. Also use Revo Uninstaller (in moderate mode). Download the free version

Well I threw out the first two downloaded files and redownloaded. Must of been a corrupt contents file. It all works now. Thanks so much for your help and interest. You were more than kind.

No problem - glad you got it sorted

The odd thing though is that if the downloads are corrupt, normally an extract to folder won't work.

Now burn the two discs as a backup

Two Disc Burned. Thanks Buddy.
