I am trying to record gameplay for the witcher 2 on steam, but the software doesn't find it when it scans for games. When I start it up manually the green indicator shows up, but when I use the record hot key(F7) the game immediately closes. Is there anyway to fix this?

I think the record key is F6.

I have the same problem, in fact this program doesn't recognise a lot of games.

They say it should work with all modern games but clearly it doesn't :( i cant get it to work at all with the main games i play like ArmA2/Arrowhead, FEAR3 etc. Only one i can get it to work with is Test Drive Unlimited2 and even then the videos it creates cant be opened.

Im trying to get them to help me but EVERYTHING they have said to try don't work, its looking more and more of a refund, shame!!

Im in the same boat. it sucks to. it works with old games not new ones

It will not work with DX 11

WeGame isn't recording DirectX 11 Games! (DA2/DDO/BFBC2 and others)

Unfortunately the WeGame client does not yet support DirectX 11 recording. While we will add it in a future release, in the mean-time you must lower your settings to DX10 or under to use this game with WeGame.

WeGame is the software that records gameplay. It's a big letdown. It does not play well with steam eather. I don't like steam my self but more and more games are useing it for DRM in their game's. We have no choice and are forced to use it.

I so wanted this product to work but it just wouldn't work with Test Drive Unlimited 2 which is run through Steam. I tried it with a couple other Steam games and it either didn't work and all I got was black screens or it crashed the game or prevented it from launching. On the PC Game Capture help page one of the suggestions was turn down or turn off processes that enhance game performance or game appearance. what a horrible thing to suggest! I spent a fortune on a high end gaming rig and before that, I had a fortune in upgrades on the last PC. Most gamers do the same thing, spending a lot of money on a PC or upgrades. It just seems an insult to even suggest we have to tune our rigs down! The problem is not with our computers, but with PC Game Capture!

I finally gave up on PC Game Capture and bought FRAPS which has been around for ages. I tested out the trial version first which limited recording to 30 seconds but it was enough time to prove it worked with every game PC Game Capture did not work with. I bear no ill will towards Roxio, but I have over 50 games on my Steam account so for a recording program to potentially behave badly withh all of those is unacceptable. I tried FRAPS over a few days with over 30 of the Steam games I have from Test Drive to Metro 2033 to Dirt 2 to Mass Effect 2. It worked perfectly and the results looked awesome with both screen shots and videoa. Granted, with FRAPS you have to use a different program to edit them, but that's not a big deal. I use Roxio Media Creator products and it works well at editing the video. I use mt picture editing software to manipulate my screen shots if that what I need to do.

As best as I can tell, FRAPS didn't slow the games down at all, or if it did, it was not enough to notice. On a few games like Half Life 2 where I was able to go back to saved that had intense action sequences and replay them, there was no lag or performance drop off. Even graphically demanding cut scenes recorded perfectly.

I got a refund for PC Game Capture and bought the full version of FRAPS which was $37. Down the road Roxio WILL have to fix all the flaws with PC Game Capture if they plan to continue selling it. The will have to because services like Steam and cloud gaming are the future of PC gaming and consoles will follow suit as well. If their recording software is not going to interface with games based partly or entirely online 100% and do so in a manner that isn't going to require compromise on the gamers part, such a program will deservedly flop. If and when they fix it, i will likely buy it again because the all in one capture and editing feature is nice. But, what good is editing if it can't get the content you want to edit.

Right now PC Game Capture is definitely not ready for prime time. The sad thing is the end user will be asked to jump through all kinds of hoops, all the problems will be their fault, their gaming system's fault, and the sacrifice to try to get this sofware to work will all be on them. That's just wrong. The product works, but just in a limited set of circumstances. There is no getting around that. It isn't going to get fixed until it gets a major patch or a new version comes out which users will pay to upgrade to.

And, by the way, RE the person who said it will not work with DX11 may be right, but I am running DX11 and FRAPS works fine with it. Again, that proves what I said: this software isn't interested in serving the user. The user is supposed to compromise to work with it and pay for the priviledge.

Why didnt I read here before I bought this rubbish :(

BF3, skyrim, dirt 3, NFS shift, DOW2 and renegade ops ... all I want to record and 0 of these games are supported or will record :( ... what a joke

Exactly 2 games from a list of 17 are recordable!

Edit: How do I get a refund?
