Creator 2009 And Now 2011 - Blue Screen Stop Errors

OpGratRWB

Question

Hello folks:

Not sure what's up with my Creator programs. I bought the 2009 version and it gave me problems from the start. I then received some sound tech support from Roxio about update Direct X and that seemed to have solved the problem. My computer was infected with a virus which resulted in the operating system having to be reinstalled. The computer was reloaded from the Dell Discs and all programs reinstalled. The Creator 2009 started giving me the same blue screen - stop errors 0x0000008E, 0x806ECAE1, etc. I updated the Direct X but the program continued to give me the same issues when I would try to edit a program, preview, etc. I attempted to contact Roxio later but was told that they no longer supported my "legacy" program,

I waited to purchase Creator 2011 and it installed fine and appeared to be functioning properly after updating, etc. Then, it started with the same blue screen error messages.

Any suggestions - just got this program and really need to use it. Anything you might have to help would be welcome. Thanks

Without some information on what "problems" and "same issues" you are having, it is impossible to offer any help. All you have said it doesn't work.

C2011 appeared to work fine for you then you started to have problems. So what did you change on your system: do windows updates, run registry cleaners or what?

The Microsoft Knowledge Base HERE suggests that a Stop Error 8e suggests that this may be caused by the Haxdoor virus.

This problem may occur if the computer is infected with a variant of the HaxDoor virus.

The HaxDoor virus creates a hidden process. Additionally, the virus hides files and registry keys. The executable file name of the HaxDoor virus may vary, but the file name is frequently Mszx23.exe. Many variants of this virus put a driver that is named Vdmt16.sys or Vdnt32.sys on the computer. This driver is used to hide the virus process. The HaxDoor virus variants can restore these files if you delete them.

It might pay you to look at that KB article.
