Getting An Unknown Capture Error

I am trying to use my game cap with the Wii. I have an older tv so it only has rca jacks, i plug the green componet cable in to yellow rca and connect the audio, image shows up on laptop and has audio, image appears to be in black and white. I start my capture and it appears to start then has an unknown capture error. It also constantly shows no signal yet you can see image and have audio, still have not been able to make a vid. Could my internet not be strong enough I am using wifi. I am not very computer savy, I can game but not very techy.

al right so lets get this

there are 3 ports in my tv

red white yellow

the white and yellow ports go direclty in

and sound is heard

on the other hadnn i dotn have the place 2 put all the other stuff? the blue,green ect.

i connected the green adn the other togher with a spliter and i conected the other oen 2

it comes up in black and white when its all put togher however when i change it 2 the settings in the tuorail it show on my comp

The only way to work and you have a COMPONENT TO RCA Converter (very expensive).

 

Buy a PS3 COMPONENT cable, plug in RGC and play via PC.

I have a componet cable for the Wii, but my tv is outdated and has rca jacks. So how will a ps3 componet cable help me with a Wii. If I go and buy a new tv, then everything should work fine. Why does it show no signal and has the unknown capture error, is this do to not having all componet cables plugged in. I was told that I could use the Y (green) componet for the yellow video rca and then the red and white sound. What about internet connection using wifi could that make a difference at all. I know my computer specs are up to par. and yes you can buy a new tv cheaper than a componet to rca converter. Are there any other ways I could try and capture without the RGC, I have Roxio creator 2011. I am anxious to start making vids and do not know how long will take to get a new tv and get my RGC functioning. Thanks for the feedback hope you have some more.

Do not have another TV, where can I get another capture card and what would you recommend? Are they easier to use than the RGC cause I not having any luck with it, I have Roxio Creator 2011, Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium, would these work for editing with another capture card? I appreciate all your help.
