Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (Service Pack 3)

Security Software: Kaspersky Internet Security Suite 2011

Roxio Software: Roxio Easy CD & DVD Burning

 

I'm sorry if I'm repeating questions others have already asked, but after looking through the first dozen messages previously posted on this error message, I saw no solutions that I hadn't already tried.

 

Approximately every 6 months, my Roxio Easy CD & DVD Burning stops working, requiring a complete uninstall and re-install. This time, the reinstall is hanging up, the computer restart getting stuck on the "Windows is starting up" page, necessitating a manual turn-off of the computer, a restart in "Safe Mode" and a system restore. Once I restore the system to a previous point, I get a different error message each time.

 

The first uninstall/reinstall left me with the following error message:

 

"A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: E:\2b36fc.msi"

 

The second uninstall/reinstall left me with the following error message:

 

"Error 1905.Module C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sonic

Shared\SonicMC01\sonich264dec_dmo.dll failed to unregister.

HRESULT -2147220472. Contact your support personnel. "

 

The third uninstall/reinstall left me with the following error message:

 

"Unable to find a certificate file."

 

And the fourth uninstall/reinstall is presently giving me the following error message:

 

"The certificate file is missing or has been corrupted. Please re-install it."

 

I have no idea where to get the certificate file to replace it. I've already sent an enquiry through Roxio Tech Support, but past experience has been that their response is not always as prompt as I would like, so I thought I'd make an enquiry here as well. Of the four uninstall/reinstalls that I have done, the last two times were complete uninstalls utilizing the directions found on the following page:

I've also done 4 system restores during that same period of time. Would someone tell me where I can find the certificate file so that I can use my Roxio software once more?
