Convert from what to what (format)?

That's the famous 8% AVI hang!

Jim, some times the conversion from AVI will come unglued and complete itself if you give it long enough.

One of my little AVIs suddenly got moving after over 10 minutes of inactivity at 8%.

I am also attempting to convert an AVi Divx file to DVD and the conversion just sits there at 8%. I let it run overnight with no movement from the 8%. Plus the process, does an initial write to the DVD so that disk is now useless. Tried this twice with no success.

I am running Creator 2011 v 1.3.166 SP1:5.0.0.0 my PC OS is Windows 7 Home Premium v 6.1.7601 SP1, I have 6MGB of RAM, a BDDVDRM, display is NVIDIA Getforce GT 230M and I have over 370GB of free disk space

I assume you are using Video Copy & Convert to try to burn the DVD?

I always use myDVD to create a Video_TS folder set of my DivX avi files and then burn that folder set to a DVD. I have never had any problems.

How long in time is that DivX file?

Yes, I'm using Video Copy and Convert to convert the file, its a full lenght movie (1hr 37 minutes). The file is not a protected DVD.

That movie will not fit on a standard 4.7GB DVD (which can only hold 60 minutes at best quality) unless you lower the quality setting quite a bit or burn to a DL DVD.

Vidman,

Creator 2011 seems defective in this matter of converting AVI files to DVD. It all too often hangs at the 8% point.

Try using one of the free converters you can find on the Internet to convert your AVI to some other format, and then use Creator 2011 to convert it to a DVD. That should work okay.

We hope that the next version, which should be due along soon, will have this problem fixed.
