Verify Error On Every Disc I Burn

sofasurfer

Question

I only installed Toast 11 yesterday and have copying CDs always give me an error when I verify the disc. The error message is 'Mismatch at byte 532/ sector 1 and comes up right at the beginning of the verification process. I have tried different media and still get the same error message. I'm using Toast on a brand new i7 iMac and have even tried slowing down the write process and yet I still get the same error on verifying. I am also on the latest version of Toast and running it through the latest version of OS X.

Please can somebody help me out on this as it's frustrating that a new piece of software just does not work properly.

Tell me the exact steps. These are data (not audio) CDs, right? Do you have one optical drive or two? As an experiment try choosing Save as Disc Image (either from the File menu or by selecting that with the device popup at the bottom) and then burn the CD from the resulting .toast file using the Image File setting in the Copy window. A verification error does not necessarily mean there is anything wrong with the burned disc. Try checking using the Compare function in the Toast Utilities menu.
