Normalize Audio And Video Overlay

I was using Videowave 2010 and now Videowave 2011. The same problems happens in both applications. I have multiple video overlays that are trimmed from larger video files. All of these are trimmed and have fading and I have edited the native audio to be as loud as possible over the background Music Track.

The problem comes when I Output the video to MPEG-2 files. If I choose the normalize audio function, when the overlay starts to play it shows the correct video but it starts the audio from the beginning of the entire video file that I have trimmed and set as an overlay. THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING to spend good money on a product and it doesn't work like advertised.
