Vhs To Dvd For Pc

Recently purchased, but having trouble getting this to work. I've installed correctly and have the USB 2861 Device selected in capture device. I have my laptop connected to a Sony Trinitron with a built-in VHS unit, using the audio and vidoe cables provided with the USB video capture device. But, when I insert a tape and push play, I see and hear the movie on the TV, but there is no input in my laptop's Roxio capture input screen. The Capture Now button is greyed out.

 

Any suggestions on how to resolve this? I've tried every combination of cabling I can think of, but it is pretty straight forward. Perhaps a defective capture device?

Have you got the the Output of the VHS unit connected to the USB RCA composite jacks.

 

I am assuming that TV/Combo has a Video/Audio out jack, you didn't say what model you had so I cant look it up.
