Partial or improper install would result in above. Might want to use clean install process or some kind of reg cleaner before you attempt another install.

Did you EVER get it to install and run? If so, what did you do with yourr HDD or registry afterwards?

If you NEVER got it installed you need to follow the clean install process, whicxh i refer to as uninstall - eradicate - install method. Find the roxio page on this - maybe i can dig it up.

basically:

1 unistall

2 hunt down and delete the hidden files and directories

3 empty the trash

4 delete all roxio or sonic associated cookies (all cookies if you are running internet extorter)

5 edit the registry and delete the keys listed in the clean install page

6 go to the top of the registry

7 search for roxio delete any key found, continue to search to the end deleting any keys you find

8 go back to the top of the registry

9 search for roxio again - you should not find any

10 go back to the top

11 search for sonic delete any keys found

12 keep searching to the bottom of the registry deleting any keys found

13 go back to the top

14 searcg for sonic again - you should not find any

15 exit REGEDIT

16 run msconfig as instructed be sure to disable AV program

17 reboot

18 REMOVE YOUR NETWORK WIRE or TURN OFF WIFI - your machine will be vulnerable until you re-enable AV, etc

19 on restart ensure all startup apps are disabled

20 disable your AV if it's not already disabled

21 install roxio

22 run MSCONGIG to re-enable everything

23 reboot

You should now have a functioning install

Here is the clean install link:
