Question

I just got a new Dell computer with Roxio 12 installed. Whenever I insert a CD or DVD into CD/DVD drive, Roxio starts and I can't play the DVD since I have the starter edition. How do I remove the default so that I can view DVDs with Win Media Player or similar product?

You question is more of a Windows 7 question rather than a Roxio question and I do have a question for you.

Read this for changing the default program in Windows 7.(link).

If you have Roxio Creator 2012 (not 12), then you have CinePlayer. Is that not opening? If it is, what don't you like about it? If not, what application within Creator 2012 is opening - it might be Edit Video -Advanced aka, Video Wave which is a powerful video editing application.

Starter edition of what; Creator 2012? Dell may be including a new OEM version of the Roxio software. The old version was Creator 10.X DE. Are you saying that you have Creator 12.X DE? You would be about the first. Please post a screen shot of the Home page and of the "About" page. Here is how to do it. Your response to this would be very helpful in answering questions for many people. :)(Please).

Go to Start (bottom left on screen) type in auto play, and see what you have got selected.
