rjh
Burning slide shows unto a disk using Easy CD and DVD creator with archive option. Problem is that I'm unable to either find or recover the archive from the product disk. Only two folders on the disk are ROXIOPLASMA and VIDEO_TS -- and neither contains any data file formats that either I or the computer recognize. How do I get to and recover the "archive"? Brendon
RJH, I've gone and installed Easy CD and DVD Creator 6, but I'm having difficulty working out from your message just what you're doing and how you're doing it. Can you amplify detail on "using Easy CD and DVD creator with archive option" please? Are you making your slide shows with an Easy CD and DVD Creator application, or are you just burning them with this suite? Which application from the suite are you using to burn your DVD? What settings are you using to do this? What messages [error or completion] are you getting from the application when you burn the DVD? You say neither folder on the DVD "contains any data file formats that either I or the computer recognize". What files are in there? Please give any other detail which will help me follow your track so that I can suggest where you or the program are going wrong. Thank you, Brendon
rjh
Thanks for your reply Brendon -- however think I figured it out. I was burning the disc via the Slide Show Assistant menu. Everything looks good but apparently you can't create an archive file even though options indicate you should be able to. Now creating the slide show first -- then importing the show into DVD Express. For some reason this does create an archive file even though the 'burn" menu looks identical. Brendon
RJH, Easy CD and DVD Creator 6 doesn't have a Slideshow Assistant, nor does it have DVD Express. I have spent quite some time looking for them once I installed the suite. What software [name and version number] are you using, please? grandpabruce
The Red Box version, perhaps?
rjh
No version marked on disc label itself. Info through computer indicates Roxio Easy CD and DVD etc version 10.3.
grandpabruce
No version marked on disc label itself. Info through computer indicates Roxio Easy CD and DVD etc version 10.3.104 Then I don't believe that it is Easy CD & DVD Creator which is version 6.X.X.X. You may get some answers if you post in the linked forum, below.: http://forums.support.roxio.com/forum/144-easy-cd-and-dvd-burning-in-red-box-vista-windows-7-compatible/
Brendon
No version marked on disc label itself. Info through computer indicates Roxio Easy CD and DVD etc version 10.3.104 Yes, you've noticed it now, RJH. You have Easy CD and DVD Burning, not Easy CD and DVD Creator. It's an easy mistake to make, promoted by the confusing names and numbers that Roxio have been assigning to their wares, so don't be embarrassed. The forum that the other member has pointed you to is the place to go to if you have any more difficulty with the software, but as you pointed out you've got the present problem figured out. Thanks for putting my mind at rest. Regards, Brendon
rjh
Ah yes -- I see now, Disc has "ROXIO CD & DVD" printed on it in large type. The word "Burning" is in rather insignificant type below that. Thanks for the advice and the link.
