No Sound From Burnt Dvd

sekemhofu

Question

Hi Folks,

I wonder if anyone has had this problem before?

I burned one DVD successfully (VAIO, Win 7 machine) but when i try to burn a 2nd DVD, it burns OK (i.e. no errors) but the DVD when played either on PC or DVD player has no sound??? Checked all obvious things, sound on on the pc etc etc. Seems some setting has been turned off in the burn. I can play other DVD's OK on the same PC and the sound seems to be working ok. grateful for any clues. What happened between the 1st successful burn and the 2nd unsuccessful one is that Creator asked for some updates to be applied.

Many thanks

K

You need to explain what you are burning, what program you are using, from the suite, and what steps you took to burn the DVD.

Did you reboot between burns, and are you successful after rebooting?

I am using Roxio Creator 2012 "Create DVDs" function. Source are DVD files on hard disk that have been converted to DVD using Roxios "Copy and Convert" function. in the directory with the source DVD files, i have .VOB, .IFO and .BUP files -- these files are the output from copy and convert -- which seemed to work OK. I can certainly click on any .VOB and play the video content with windows player -- and when i do this, i get sound OK. Its only when i burn the stuff to DVD thats when i have a problem, strangely after succeeding 1st time around.

And yes, i have re-booted the PC a few times now. And i have also uninstalled and then reinstalled Creator 2012.

I hope this further information is useful. I have checked all sound devices from device manager on my PC and it reports that the drivers are up todate.

Rgds
