Hi

Can any one tell me if,or when SDX (Spin Doctor) will be supported in Mac OS X 10.7. Ive had to down grade to Snow Leopard to use this feature in toast 9 as there is no functionality at all Lion

I'm not optimistic. The new Spin Doctor X has not worked properly from the beginning and it is extremely discouraging that only one minor update was released since its introduction. I recommend looking elsewhere such as at Bias. Please know that I have no inside knowledge about anything going on within Roxio. It may be fixed tomorrow for all I know. I'm mystified.

Thank You for your valued comment which is taken on board. When I originaly purchased toast 9 there were many initial glitches with CD Spin Doctor,Eventually these got sorted.Roxio support has just sent me to a standard page posted in August saying any problems will be addressed by the end off.Not wanting to throw hard earned cash away with an upgrade what are your thoughts?are the issues you mention minor?

Cheers Ian

I've just installed Toast 11.0.4 on a computer running Mac OS X 10.5.8. SpinDoctor won't launch at all. I was told by Roxio Support that this is a "known issue", and that I should keep checking back for an update. Has anyone else been able to do a work-around? I had loaded Bias SoundSoap from the "pro" version of Toast. Someone in this forum mentioned that the plug-in for Bias products might interfere with SpinDoctor. How would I temporarily disable a plug-in and then enable it again, to see if this is the problem?

The SoundSoap VST plugin is not in conflict with Spin Doctor X but some others are. See my post about Spin Doctor in the Tips and Tricks topic pinned at the top of the forum. I think I described the issue there. The "fix" is to temporarily drag the 3rd party plugins out of that folder.

I've just tried dragging the plug-ins out of the audio/plugins folder, but it didn't resolve the problem.

I'm sorry you're having this problem and I don't know the cure. At best, Spin Doctor X is a mess so I'm not sure that getting it to launch will lead to it actually working as it should. I have in on my MacBook Pro running Lion and the streaming audio capture isn't working at all. I haven't checked if the audio capture using the Mac's audio input is working (the mic input seems to work). But those are capture methods that also can be done with QuickTime Player. Bias is selling an app called SoundSaver that I'm told is working. If you are running Lion just forget about Spin Doctor X for now. Even if you're running Snow Leopard you may want to forget it. I really wish I knew what Roxio plans to do about this.

If you're determined to get it launched, try it after starting the Mac in Safe Mode. Or create a new user account and try it from there (you may need to run the Toast installer again from the new user account). The version included with the Toast 11.0.4 update is not the latest. Once you get it to launch you'll be informed of a new update to download from within the app.
