Doesn't Recognize Usb Device

Question

Bought a Mac Book Pro in June. Just purchased the easy VHS to DVD for Mac. I followed the getting started guide and installed the software. No problems. Followed the instructions to connect my camcorder to my Mac. Then, I double clicked on Easy VHS to DVD icon. Window popped up to "connect my hardware to any USB port" It was connected and didn't recognize it. i "quit". Tried to launch the program this time before I plugged in the hardware. Same window popped up. Plugged in the device...nothing. What else can I do?

Have you updated to version 1.0.5?

I just downloaded the update, and I had the same results as before.

Same problem, no sound or picture or recognition of the Video Capture USB. "Please connect your Easy VHS to DVD Capture hardware to any USB2.0 port" is all i get. Tried two different computers - Mini with 10.5.8 and a MacBook Pro with 10.8.2. Output is fine to a monitor using either SVHS Cable or Video. Bought it months ago along with Toast 11 Pro and never got it working. Toast is 11.1 and Easy capture is 1.05. Is it a bad USB Video Capture plug in?
