Photoshow 6 Stops/freezes

Question

I recently bought/installed Creator 2012 and I'm trying to create a slideshow by launching PhotoShow (ver 6.0.0. build 871) from within Creator 2012. I have assembled approximately 150 .jpg photos using 5 second simple transitions with three .mp3 songs as the background music for a slideshow that is approximately 11 minutes long. Total file size on disk is about 174 MB for the finished PhotoShow.

Everything seems fine except when I try to run the show it stops about 2/3 of the way through the show for no apparent reason. I've tried running it in PREVIEW mode, RUN mode, and tried burning to DVD and no matter what it stops around slide 114 of 150 approximately 7:45 time into the show. I've tried deleting and change order of slides and changing music transition points wondering if there was a problem with one of the picture files or something but doesn't seem to make a difference. If I manually select one of the slides just after the point where it stops it will usually restart and play through to the end if I hit PREVIEW, but it just won't play through the whole thing without manual intervention. Occasionally it also seems to crash the program and I have to restart it.

In terms of my system, I have a Dell Latitude E6510 with 40 GB of open hard drive space and 4 GB of RAM running Windows 7 Pro.

I submitted a customer service ticket #1161529 but after two days no response from customer support so now getting desperate and of course frustrated.

Appreciate any possible suggestions or help! Thanks.

Thanks for providing the information. It helps. You won't like my answer though. Sometimes that happens and no one knows why. To save your sanity; you may want to try making a shorter slide show and see if it hangs. If not, then perhaps somehting else is going on. I your computer clean and the hard drive defragged? Are all the images the same format and relative size? Does the hand come somewhere near where the mp3 music changes? Do you own the music or perhaps it maty be DRM protected - like ITunes or from an Itunes folder?

Roxio support is not PhotoShow support. Your best bet is to call them. or use live chat when it is available. Go to the Support tab at the top of the page and then the Support Home. Select "PhotoShow" for the application. You have these options:

Chat with an Agent

Chat is available from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM EST.

Thanks for replying, looks like I have solved the problem though I have no idea how or why.

After hours of messing around, I finally isolated the problem down to one .jpg file which didn't display properly in PhotoShow so you didn't even it see in all views when editing. Once I discovered this and deleted that picture from the PhotoShow everything works fine now. A bit of a mystery as to why this photo is a problem, quite normal looking .jpg that has no problem being viewed through any other program that I use to open it, so why PhotoShow chokes on this is a complete mystery.

Oh well, at least it's working now. Thanks again for trying to help.
