Edit ; Read this first since you have an Asus laptop.

Did you try to update you OEM versions (came with your computer) with the update for the full commercial version. If so, the above would be the solution.

If you have the commercal version then: What April update are you talking about? This one (link)? If so, did you install the right one? There are 2 one for blu-ray and one without blu-ray.

When you say it uninstalled Roxio do you mean that it uninstalled the entire program (all 30 or so applications) so that you do not have any Roxio programs on your computer? If you just lost the blu-ray capability, just repair or reinstall the plug in or the entire program from the disc.

When you could not play the disc, was it a new one? Did you try an older one that played in the past. As you know the protection scheme for blu-ray discs changes with almost every new disc. I don't know what the solution is but I doubt that Roxio will make changes for every disc that comes out. Note that stand alone blu-ray players need to be updated often. That is why they have either an Internet connection or a USB plug or a disc updater.

Ok so first the April update is the one that i looked under Help on the software and click check updates. It says its a critical update. Anyways i got back my Roxio thank you for your link. Ok first yea the disc i played was a new one and yes it works playing older blu-ray disc. After i reinstalled my roxio i updated to December. When i try to put in the same blu-ray disc, it plays but the screen is black. It has audio but no visual. Its just black now.

Please explain what I bolded. What is my Roxio? You posted in Roxio Creator 2011. if that is what you have, please use the full name to prevent confusion.

Which one is the "same blu-ray" disc.

On the install disc, do you see the blu-ray plug in file?

Update your video card drivers.
