2011 Audio Drops Out At About 60%

Question

I recently upgraded to 2011 from 2009. I am trying to make a DVD assembling a dozen video clips from my camera in MOV format. When previewed in MyDVD the get about 60% through each clip and the audio drops out until the next clip. I have done this with the camera and Creator 2009 sucessfully.I saw a post somewhere on a similar problem that said to change the extension to MP4. I tried it but get the same results. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Are all the mov files from the same source? There seems to be minor differences with mov files so some seem to work and others do not.

You can use a video converter to convert the mov files to HD or standard definition mpg2 files and add those to Video Wave instead. Go to cnet.com and find a free video converter. I personally use "Any Video Converter" because it will do a batch convert. If you decide to use that program, you may have to look hard for the options since the drop down arrows don't show unless you click on the option you want to change.

Thanks for the reply. I have done a lot of research since I posted this and find others are having the same problem with 2011. Apparently 2010 worked OK and 09 had worked for me with the same camera and canon software. So it appears to be a problem with 2011. I tried to find if 2012 has the same problem but didn't find anything. I tried changing the extension to mp4 as suggested in one thread but that gave the same results. Wish I had waited on purchasing as 2012 came out a week ot two after I purchased 2011 pro directly from Roxio.

It probably would have given you the same performance. :( Roxio never fixed it in Creator 2011 so it may never be fixed in Creator 2012. I don't believe anyhting has changed.

Just use a free video converter to convert the files Download a free converter from cnet.com. Get one that will do a batch convert for all your video files.

Thanks for the replies. I am trying to keep from adding another converter on the system but that is on my list. So far today I hound a program in 2011 Applications caled Video Copy and Convert. I first tried to convert to WMV files. They played fine in WMP but had the same problem in MyDVD. I then uset it to convert them to mpeg2. The mpeg2 files failed when playing in the windows 7 player. So the Roxio converter is useless. Still trying.....
