Result Code = -5001

Question

w6wi11.png

I've spent almost 15 DVD DL media -3 different brands- trying to burn a 6.5 Gb VIDEO_TS folder. All I get at the end -after verification process- is the error message you see in the image: Result code = -5001.

DVD is always wrong, with some unwatchable parts, or menu items you can't select... Then the DVD player stops and displays a "disk error" Disk unreadable.

I've tried 3 different brands, slower burning speed, and nothing. Just keeps making coasters...

Any ideas?

If you are burning with the built-in Mac superdrive then only use Verbatim DVD+R DL media. I also would start by choosing Save as Disc Image rather than clicking the burn button and then burn the disc image to disc using the Image File setting in the Copy window. The error you report is common with Memorex DL discs but I don't know about others. Verbatim are the only ones that seem to be routinely reliable with the firmware used on Mac superdrives.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I'll give those a try and report the results later.

What I find weird is that I've used 4 different brands before, but didn't have such bad results as now. I thought it was something to do with the 11.0.4 update... I've used Sankey, Ridata, Memorex, TDK and haven't got one single working DVD from the last 15 attempts.

Thanks again.
