Dx:roxio Audioconvert 3.0

Bill Shenefelt

Question

I do my audio editing in Adobe audition. I have several direct x plug-ins that Audition needs to find with a refresh command. With Roxio installed, Audition hangs wenit comes to "DX:ROXIO AudioConvert 3.0". If I completely remove roxio 2012 and roxioCreator starter, the Adobe program is able to do the reefresh and load the direct x controls. When I then tried to reinstall 2012 pro, I got the 57 message even thou=gh I had uninstalled per the roxio website. The only way I can get roxio 2012 pro back seems to be a reversion to a saved disk image. I had contacted support and they told me that there was a way to "hide" the roxio things from Adobe so all would work. What is it??

I had no way to recontact him. I had not yet reinstalled 2012 pro so he could not direct me.

What were the "57 message even thou=gh" when you tried to reinstall Roxio C2012?

With Roxio installed, Audition hangs wenit comes to "DX:ROXIO AudioConvert 3.0".

That isn't part of C2012 Retail Suite?

It's part of "roxioCreator starter" correct?

Somewhere I seem to have lost one responce I made. Adobe audition is a music wav editor. It includes capability to utilize direct x plug-ins. I have several good plugins I use for reverb and delay. To get them into adobe audition you do a "refresh effets list" and it finds the plugin programs and adds them to use in Adobe. Somehow it seems to find something installed by roxio and hangs when I do the refresh in Adobe audition. I did try removing Roxio creater starter and it went past the first hang in roxio and then hung when it saw "Roxio VCFAudio mixer 3.0" I do not know what roxio this one is in or where it is located on the compter. I removed Roxio creater starter but only using the control panel remove program since I do nto know which folters etc are from creator vs 2012pro

Perhaps you should be looking to Adobe for the answers??? HERE

I searched there and found 2 hits on their Forums concerning Audition Version 3 from 2009:

Nothing listed after that version so I am guessing it was fixed by Adobe somewhere between 3.0 & the current 5.5

Take a look and let us know what you find ;)

I found the links you provided and then downloaded the DXman program. I used it to find the Roxio file which was ROXAUDIO.ax and moved it from its location in roxio 2012 to m desktop so I could try things and be able to revert if it did not do the job. It worked!! I only had to remove that one and Audition happily loaded all the direct x plugins. Now I still need t find out how to load some of the settings that the pluginss use. The progaams are "timeworks" They include both a reverb unit and a delay unit. Each plugin has a screen containing a picture of an electronic unit with controlsThey also have presets for the controls like room description eg brighht hall, church etc with ability to adjust dryness and size something like the one in roxio but with an instruemnt console not controls. There are additional presets that go with the timeworks program but they are not showing up in the timeworks screen. It ahs been years since I bought timeworks and I do not remember how to get the additional presets to load. Thanks for the help Audition is once again whole!
